Hans

Hans is a versatile power drummer with roots in classical percussion and jazz drumming (as well as playing jazz vibraphone). He is known for being a player that tackles any genre or style and has a high energy attitude and sound. His roots are jazz and fusion, styles that have always moved him and kept him inspired, even in the pop career…

He has toured Europe and other parts of the world with a number of artists, across many genres but important highlights were the concerts with Gino Vannelli and with (Supertramp’s) Roger Hodgson in the recent past.

From 2012 till 2022 Hans was the drummer for The Voice of Holland (all editions). Furthermore , Hans has performed on many rock albums released by acclaimed Dutch rock singer Anouk and has toured with her for years, starting in 2002 and he has taken care of the drums on her most recent album as well.

He toured with Belgian pop singer Natalia for 7 years, performing on festivals mainly.

In the period 2012-2022 Hans has toured several times through Europe with prog rock band Kayak. This all has led to a very long list of cds and dvds with many artists…..

He is a pop drums teacher at the Rotterdam conservatory, Codarts and also does clinics regularly on percussion festivals and in schools and stores.

Awards: Hans was awarded many times in the last 20 years by the Dutch drummer’s magazine Slagwerkkrant in multiple categories .

With his wife, Marieke he started a company that releases apps for iPhones and iPads for musicians, the first release was a professionally filmed video clinic on technique, groove and improvisation for drummers, Drum Clinic HD. After releasing the first app many followed and the app Drum Loops HD has lead to a great international fan base and success, a groove library for non-drummers to compose music with.
